More room in your MacBook’s notch.

Music, a focus timer and a little shelf for files, living in the black cutout at the top of your screen.

A design concept by Vayun Godara. Not a shipped app: there is nothing to download or buy. Everything on this page runs in your browser.

The notch below works. Press play, or drag a file on the desktop up into it.

1 Music

See what’s playing, skip ahead and get straight back to work.

The music view opens from the notch with the track, a little waveform and the controls you reach for most. It folds away when you move on, so the song never takes over the screen.

Simulated here: no sound plays and no music app is connected. The sample tracks and artists are made up.

2 Focus

One task, one timer, and nothing else asking for attention.

Start 25 minutes of focus and the notch keeps time at the top of the screen while you work in other windows. Here it keeps counting while you scroll.

This timer really runs, in this page only.

3 Shelf

  • Nothing on the shelf yet.

Somewhere to put the things you’re about to use.

A screenshot, a PDF, a file on its way to someone else. Drop it on the notch and pick it up later, without opening a folder you’ll forget to clean.

Try it: drag a file anywhere onto this page, or choose one. The demo only reads file names. Nothing is uploaded, and the shelf forgets everything when you reload.

With JavaScript on, you can drop files onto this page to try the shelf. It only reads file names and uploads nothing.

Good to know

What is Lilt?
A design concept for a MacBook notch app: music controls, a focus timer and a temporary file shelf in one small space. This page is its landing page, designed and built by Vayun Godara.
Can I download it?
No. Lilt isn’t a released macOS app, and there is no installer, purchase or waitlist behind this page.
Does the demo touch my Mac or my files?
No. The music player animates made-up sample tracks without playing audio. The timer runs in this page. The shelf shows file names in this tab only; nothing is uploaded or saved.
What about Macs without a notch?
The concept is designed around the notch. How it would behave on other Macs, and which macOS versions it would need, would be decided for a real release.
